Job description

  • Develop and manage relationships with existing key accounts while identifying opportunities to grow sales volume.

  • Build and manage a qualified pipeline of new customers, taking commercial ownership of opportunities from qualification to contract award.

  • Lead the commercial coordination of tenders and bids, including pre-qualification and approvals, direct negotiations, and final submission readiness.

  • Identify and manage contractual and commercial risks and implement strategies to mitigate potential issues.

  • Gather market intelligence and client feedback, and represent the company at trade events, exhibitions, seminars, and client meetings.

  • Conduct market research and obtain client feedback to improve existing products and services and enhance customer satisfaction.

  • Deliver agreed sales targets and growth KPIs, including order intake, margin, pipeline coverage, and conversion rates.

  • Provide accurate sales forecasts and commercial reports to senior management, ensuring predictable planning and capacity management.

Job requirements

  • Proven B2B sales, business development, or commercial leadership experience in technical sales or other engineered project environments.

  • A hands-on track record of developing relationships, opening new opportunities, and winning project-based business.

  • Experience managing long-cycle technical sales, with the confidence to lead direct negotiations, review contract terms, assess risk, challenge pricing and margin assumptions, and manage internal approvals.

  • Strong customer focus, with confidence engaging senior stakeholders, procurement teams, and technical decision-makers.

  • Technical literacy; an engineering degree or similar background is an advantage.

  • Excellent organizational, analytical, research, risk management, multitasking, and IT skills.

  • Fluent written and spoken English to directly engage with customers in the UK and Europe.

  • EU driving license and willingness to travel across the UK and Europe, approximately 1–2 trips every 1–2 months.
